The second in a series of small-scale concerti aimed at aspiring soloists of around Grade 8 or so, with the orchestral parts aimed at players at around Grade 7-8. Each concerto lasts about 8-9 minutes, and is in one movement with three distinct, contrasting sections, each of which can also be performed separately if desired. Orchestration for each is 2222/2220/1/soloist/strings, i.e. a “Mozart-sized” orchestra with 2 added trombones. These little concerti are deigned to help address a “gap” in the market, as there seem to be relatively few small-scaled “original” concerti (as opposed to transcriptions and arrangements) A “set” comprises a full score, 2 copies of each ww & brass part, timpani, double bass and the solo part, 5 copies each of violins 1 & 2 and 3 copies each of the viola & cello parts.
