Raffaello Galli (1824-1889) wrote around 400 works for flute, most of which have been long since lost. This carefully revised edition revives two of the most charming of these forgotten works: the "little nocturne", Una Sera in Mare, op. 52, which combines virtuoso passage work for both players with delightful Neapolitan style melodies; and the divertimento, La Sonnambula, op. 249, a fantasy on melodies from Bellini’s opera of the same name. For the first time, the flute parts are presented as a duo score for ease of rehearsal, with individual performance parts and recorded piano accompaniments available as downloads. Galli's two fantasies for flute duo and piano are a sparkling addition to the repertoire, and make ideal concert pieces for intermediate and advanced players.
