Piano Sonata is Glass’ first sonata for piano, and at thirty minutes in length, his longest singular work for solo piano. The work was composed for pianist Maki Namekawa and premiered at the Klaiver Festival Ruhr in 2019. Large in scope, the piece embraces expertise, playfulness, and joy.
