Supraphon
The Czech Supraphon record company has a long and distinguished history. The Supraphon name was first registered as a trademark in 1932 and in later years played a significant role in helping to spread the fame of Czech classical music recordings. The artistic direction of the firm led to a broad catalogue which systematically mapped out the works of Smetana, Dvorák and Janácek, as well as other giants of both the Czech and the international music worlds. Major Czech and foreign soloists, chamber ensembles, orchestras and conductors all contribute to Supraphon's remarkable collection of recordings.
